NeoDyne was delighted to sponsor and attend the launch of the new UCC Power Laboratory on Tuesday, 16th April 2024.

Equipped with state-of-the-art electrical and electromechanical energy conversion devices and systems, the new Power Laboratory, an initiative of UCC’s Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, provides students with hands-on experience. The unique learning environment allows students to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical setting, enhancing their understanding and preparing them for real-world challenges in the energy sector.

In response to a call for industry support, NeoDyne was delighted to sponsor the laboratory alongside six other engineering companies. NeoDyne also contributed to its development, with former placement and 2021 graduates, Sally Roche and Krystian Winkler, playing a pivotal role in its configuration and earning special recognition at the launch.

Martin Farrell, MD, who attended the event, said,

NeoDyne was delighted to sponsor this very important initiative. We recognise the incredible benefit of having hands-on industry experience and are proud to stand behind UCC as they launch the new laboratory. Our connection with the university runs deep as strong supporters of the university’s work placement and graduate programmes. Notably, up to 50% of NeoDyne engineers are proud UCC Electrical Engineering alumni, including myself. We're committed to further strengthening this partnership with UCC, actively supporting the university in producing top-tier graduates. We also want to thank Dr John Hayes, Senior Lecturer in the Department and Saba Loftus, Head of Development (Science, Engineering & Food Science) for their continued support. We look forward to building on this relationship for many years to come.
