Key Responsibilities

Design and Engineering

• Develop Protection and Control (P&C) designs for HV and MV substations, including protection schemes, control schematics, SLDs, and interlocking diagrams.
• Specify and design AC/DC auxiliary systems, control panels, marshalling cabinets, and wiring diagrams.
• Prepare Protection Coordination Studies, fault current calculations, and relay grading reports.
• Select and configure protection relays and prepare detailed relay setting files.
• Design and implement substation automation systems (SAS), RTU/PLC logic, and IEC 61850-based systems.
• Create detailed control logic diagrams, signal lists, and communication interfaces for SCADA, RTU, and IED integration.

Testing, Commissioning, and Verification

• Develop Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) procedures for control and protection systems.
• Carry out relay testing, secondary injection, and end-to-end testing.
• Verify correct protection functionality, trip logic, interlocking, and communication protocols.
• Provide on-site technical support during commissioning, energisation, and fault-finding phases.

Documentation and Compliance

• Produce comprehensive design documentation, wiring schedules, technical specifications, and as-built drawings.

NeoDyne are recruiting a highly skilled HV Design Engineer to join our expanding Transmission & Distribution team. This role will involve leading a team of 2-3 design engineers and producing substation and renewable electrical design packages. Experience using EPLAN design software essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviewing Client or Employer Requirements for a project and ensuring design compliance.
• Producing specifications for various electrical equipment and assemblies (transformers, circuit breakers, instrument transformers etc.).
• Reporting to the Senior Engineering Manager on projects.
• Providing guidance and training to junior and graduate engineers.
• HV Design Responsibilities to include:
• Control & Protection wiring schematics;
• Protection schemes for IPP transformers and substations;
• Earthing designs to IEEE 80 and EN 50552;
• Static design studies including transformer sizing, load flow, reactive power, short circuit utilising ETAP software;
• Substation layouts to IEC 61936 for both AIS and GIS switchgear;
• Low voltage designs to IS10101;
• Lighting and general services designs;
• Interfacing with utility and third party consultants to answer and close out design review comments;
• Responding to site queries from install contractors and commissioners;
• Complying with NeoDynes ISO9001 and internal design review procedures;
• Design project management from project initiation to substation energisation.

Experience & Skills

Required

• Level 8 Degree in Electrical, Energy Engineering, or equivalent
• 4-8 years experience in a high voltage electrical design environment.
• Ability to drive and develop control & protection designs using EPLAN.

• Experience of high voltage earthing design requirements an advantage.

This role involves full ownership and operational responsibility for the electrical distribution systems at a leading biopharma manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will act as the site SME across all critical electrical infrastructure, including Fire Alarm Systems, Gas Detection, UPS, and Medium Voltage (MV) systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the site’s entire electrical distribution infrastructure, ensuring full compliance with national and EU regulatory standards.
• Act as subject matter expert for:
• Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems

• UPS and Generator Backup Systems

Position Summary

NeoDyne is seeking a highly experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer to support one of our key client sites on a contract basis. The successful candidate will play a critical role in delivering automation expertise across the Dublin based site.

This role is heavily design-focused and requires an engineer who can confidently lead the delivery of I&C system designs, while serving as a key liaison between the client’s engineering function, the main contractor, and specialist I&C vendors.

Key Responsibilities

·      Lead the design of instrumentation and control system hardware, including field instruments, control panels, junction boxes, and HMI interfaces.

·      Translate project and process requirements into detailed I&C design documentation, including loop drawings, block diagrams, system architecture schematics, and design specifications.
