What a way to end their placement year! NeoDyne celebrated the achievements and successes of our 11 work placement students at a recent address and lunch in Cork. We had a top-class bunch of UCC, UCD, DCU, MTU and NUI Galway students who made a fantastic contribution to the business over their 3–8-month internships. Coming from disparate Degree courses in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Physics and Business Information Systems, they brought their unique perspectives and new ways of thinking to our business. They became valued and indispensable members of the NeoDyne team giving their all to their assigned projects. We wish them the best as they embark on their final year of studies and hope to see them back for our 2023 graduate programme.

NeoDyne has run a successful work placement programme for over 10 years with established links with universities in Cork, Dublin, and Galway. Students are placed in a role where they get to do meaningful work from Day 1, developing their knowledge through live projects and real-world challenges. Students choose a pathway within our three business specialisations: System Integration, Power Generation and Tranmission & Distribution, aligning with their Degree and career ambitions. After a comprehensive induction, work placement students become fully immersed in the business doing the same work as graduate engineers. Work assignments are spread across all areas of Electrical Engineering and Automation, including electrical, PLC, and SCADA design, power generation, control logic programming and MES development. Students get to work on exciting digital transformation projects integrating IIoT and Industry 4.0 solutions into our customer’s manufacturing processes, transforming the way factories operate today. They also get the opportunity to make their mark on climate change with green initiatives ranging from embedded renewables to biomethane injection facilities. And what’s more, with the vast majority returning to take up graduate positions with NeoDyne, the programme boasts real employment credentials!
